This series of workshops will provide families the opportunity to participate with their child up to 5-years old. Please note that registration is required. An adult (one per child) must accompany each child that is registered to attend. You are welcome to attend even if your child is not with you.
Journey Workshops
Workshop Goals:
1) To acknowledge and build confidence that families know their children best
2) To help families understand the impact that their interactions with their children have on their child's development and outcomes
3) To increase families' capacity to engage in reciprocal partnerships committed to their children’s success in school and life
Workshop Details:
These workshops are free of charge
We are offering 4 workshops, each about 1 & 1/2hr hours long
Offered once a week, each workshop will focus on one of the 4 ideas outlined above
Each family will take home a book and materials for an adult-child interactive activity every week
By sharing the guide with families, we hope to promote a shared understanding of the purpose of family-school partnerships and strategies for building relationships with partners in their children's health and development. Our hope is that the workshops will begin developing families' confidence and capacity to engage with partners in their children’s development as well as provide an additional opportunity for families to build relationships with one another.
